Dietary Exposure – Introduction

This section brings two data-driven tools designed to estimate potential dietary exposure to pesticides for both humans (via food consumption) and farm animals (via feed intake), using harmonized datasets, scientifically validated methods, and transparent assumptions.

These tools bring together pesticide residue monitoring data, food and feed consumption information, and animal and human intake models to generate estimated exposure levels under realistic conditions. Results are presented separately for each tool. The first tool, namely human exposure, focuses on dietary exposure of humans, with calculations made per combination of country, commodities, pesticides, and yearly time periods. The second tool, namely farm animal exposure, focuses on estimation of exposure for different farm-animal types based on measured pesticide values in feed within the SPRINT project.
