Usage notes

  • Maps are selected by choosing country district, environmental compartmentstime and chemical from the dropdown list
  • Each dropdown list is dynamically updated based on current selection
  • Each interactive HTML map contains data for one pesticide only (Acetamiprid, Glyphosate, or Tebuconazole) displayed in the “Chemical” dropdown list
  • In case of the Netherlands additional filters will appear after selecting water compartment: “River Breadth (m)” and “River Length (m)”
  • The PEC maps are based on a single agro-environmental scenario: single pesticide application in July using crops and pesticide application data from 2021
  • Individual field and river segment polygons displayed on the maps are interactive
  • After hoovering courser over the polygons, they will be highlighted
  • Each individual river basin and LAU are clickable
  • After selecting PEC soil maps, clicking on the river basin concentration polygon will display popup: 1) Median PEC(time) soil, 2) # of treated fields and 3) Area of treated fields
  • After selecting PEC surface water maps, clicking on the river basin concentration polygon will display popup: 1) Median PECannual surface water, 2) # of streams receiving pesticides and 3) Total length of streams receiving pesticides
  • Both PECs follow the same continuous color-coding
  • Clicking river basin polygon will display Basin ID
  • Clicking LAU polygons will display name
  • River networks, field PEC soil and stream PEC surface water are rasterised using 100x100 m raster template
  • Additional interactive map elements include: 1) Control layer widget in top right corner to toggle map layers (basin level concentrations, river level concentrations LAU borders, river network, river basins), 2) zoom button in the bottom left corner
  • Clarity of PEC soil and surface water raster maps for individual fields and river segments can increased by additionally displaying river basin or LAU layer from control layer widget. This is especially valid for low concentration
