Human Dietary Exposure by Pesticides from Food Commodities

Exposure maps present the estimated average dietary exposure (µg.kg-1bodyweight) of the European adult population to pesticides via consumption of selected food commodities per calendar year. This estimation is based on the utilization of the imputed pesticide residue concentration in food commodities. Further information for readers interested in the methodology and limitations of the tool is available in the tool introduction.

Usage 

  1. Select a commodity, a substance, and a year.
  2. There is a possibility to loop through the years (using the up and down arrows) to find the years containing data. 
  3. The numeric values of the estimated average dietary exposure are provided along with their corresponding Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI) value for assessing the risk. ADI data was taken from the pesticide properties database (PPDB ).
  4. Note that not every combination of commodity, substance, and year will yield data.

NA: The countries with NA values lack either data on pesticide residue concentration or food consumption data. For further information, look at the table in the introduction, tab “Description for Scientists”.
