Pesticide Residues in Food Commodities

The presented maps in this toolbox illustrate the average imputed pesticide residue concentrations (µg.kg-1) in food commodities in European countries per calendar year. There is the possibility of filtering the content based on the year-food commodity-pesticide combination. In addition, the maps give the opportunity to monitor the trends in the countries over the years from 2011 to 2020. For additional information regarding the imputation method, the readers can refer to the tool introduction.

Usage 

  1. Select a commodity, a substance, and a year.
  2. There is a possibility to loop through the years (using the up and down arrows) to find the years containing data.
  3. The numeric values of the pesticide average residue concentration in food commodity after imputation is provided along with their corresponding Maximum Residue Level (MRL), taken from the EU Pesticides Database .
  4. Note that not every combination of commodity, substance, and year will yield data.

NA: The countries with NA values lack data on pesticide residue concentration. For further information, look at the table in the introduction, tab “Description for scientists”.
