Water sampling and analyses
Water samples were collected from CSS with surface water bodies like small rivers, stream channels, small lakes, or ponds connected to or close to the sampled fields. Between 3 and 8 water bodies were sampled per CSS. One composite water sample of ~2L was collected per water body. Water samples were collected sub-superficially (directly collected with a polypropylene bottle) at three points of the water body at least 10 meters from each other. After sampling, the water samples were stored at -20°C and sent to CIEMAT in Madrid, Spain for pesticide analysis.
